This painting is inspired from a hike by the artist above Howtown bay in Febuary 2019. A fresh fall of snow had brightened an otherwise leaden sky. Suddenly light broke through, casting an orange glow over the distant fells

Dramatic light after a storm is not unusual, but breaking out while the sky was still heavy with snow clouds is not that common, at least to catch as it so fleeting, inside 10 minutes it was gone..
